These Certifications were jointly released by IMTA at the opening ceremony of the 2024 International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports Conference on September 26, 2024. Prof. Wu Bihu, Director of the Tourism Research and Planning Center at Peking University's College of Urban and Environmental Sciences and an expert advisor to IMTA, formally introduced these documents, which establish standardized frameworks for evaluating and recognizing world-class mountain tourism destinations.
