On January 13, 2023, the standard for "Construction and Rating on International Mountain Hot Spring Wellness Tourism Destination", jointly developed by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance, Asia-Pacific Institute for Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy Tourism, Hainan Tourism Investment & Development Co., Ltd., China Forestry Industry Federation Forest Rehabilitation Branch, the Chongqing Climate Center, International Society of Nature and Forest Medicine, Japan Forest Medicine Research Association, and the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies Forest Health Specialized Committee, was officially released under the standard number T/IMT 0001-2023 and implemented from the date of release.

This standard is the first international group standard for mountain hot spring wellness tourism, and also the first international organization group standard participated by China's hot spring industry. It is of great significance for scientifically guiding and regulating the construction and service of mountain hot spring health tourism destinations in the field of international mountain tourism, and promoting the high-quality sustainable development of related industries.
