Covering approximately 15 kilometers, the trail takes 3–4 hours to complete with low difficulty and gentle altitude changes. It mainly consists of wooden boardwalks and rainforest paths, suitable for hikers of all ages. Going deep into the tropical primeval rainforest with a vegetation coverage rate of up to 98%, hikers can witness typical tropical plant phenomena such as buttress roots, strangler figs and epiphytes along the way, and hear birds singing and insects chirping everywhere. In summer, you can enjoy the cool and humid environment of the rainforest; in winter, the climate is warm and pleasant. The key attractions include Taiping Waterfall, which cascades down a cliff dozens of meters high into a clear stream where various tropical aquatic organisms can be observed. Several rainforest observation decks along the trail offer panoramic views of the main peak of Wuzhi Mountain.

The cultural experience has distinctive Hainan characteristics. At the end of the hike, you reach the Li and Miao villages in Taiping Town, where primitive boat-shaped houses and ethnic minority totem cultures are preserved. Hikers can taste local specialties such as Li bamboo-tube rice and Miao five-color rice, and participate in traditional handicraft activities like Li brocade weaving and Miao silver jewelry making, experiencing the warm hospitality of the ethnic minority people. The supporting facilities are well-established. A tourist service center at the starting point provides route planning and tour guide booking services. Rest platforms and ecological toilets are set up along the way, with basic emergency rescue equipment available. The best hiking season is November to April of the following year, when the climate is warm and dry, avoiding Hainan’s rainy season, making it the perfect time for hiking and experiencing ethnic customs.
