Located in Yutang Town, Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, this demonstration site is situated at the highest peak of the Qingcheng Mountain range. Named after the legendary God of Wealth, Marshal Zhao Gongming, who is said to have retreated here, it is a key mountain hiking demonstration project around Chengdu built in 2021. Featuring "primitive mountain experiences + God of Wealth cultural heritage + convenient proximity to the city," it is hailed as "the closest mountain to Chengdu for viewing sea of clouds," serving as a field training base for outdoor enthusiasts and a weekend leisure secret for urban residents.

The core hiking route of the demonstration site is Yueqi Mountain Lodge Camping Base → Zhaogong Ancestral Temple → Top God of Wealth Temple, with a round-trip length of 9 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1,300 meters, taking 6-7 hours to complete. The overall terrain consists of gravel roads, dirt roads, and wooden ladder paths, with moderate difficulty, suitable for hikers with some basic experience. The route can be divided into three sections:

Cultural experiences and natural landscapes complement each other. The two God of Wealth temples on the mountain carry profound folk culture, with temple guardians having persisted here for decades, maintaining the original ecological style. The mountain is rich in primitive vegetation with high forest coverage and fresh air: cool mountain forests in summer, red leaves all over the mountains in autumn, and occasional snow in winter, offering distinct seasonal landscapes. In terms of supporting facilities, the Yueqi Mountain Lodge Camping Base at the entrance of the demonstration site provides parking services (10 yuan parking fee). Restrooms are available at the downhill parking lot (hygiene conditions deteriorate further up the mountain, with only simple restrooms at Zhaogong Ancestral Temple halfway up and Zhaogong Temple at the top). Supply points are scarce along the way, with only simple stations halfway up and at the top—hikers are advised to prepare sufficient water and food in advance.
Since becoming a hiking tourism demonstration site in 2021, the local government has improved the route’s signage system, added safety warning signs, reminding hikers to download offline maps in advance (poor signal along the way, with network available at the top), carry non-slip shoes and waterproof jackets, and advocate "leave-no-trace hiking" by taking away garbage. The demonstration site’s proximity to the city is a major advantage—only 1.5 hours’ drive from downtown Chengdu—making it a popular choice for office workers, college students, and families in Chengdu and surrounding areas to carry out one-day trips, fulfilling the experience needs of "round-trip in one day, easy hiking, and getting close to nature."
