According to statistics from Haikou Customs on September 29, during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday (September 25–27), Haikou Customs supervised offshore duty-free shopping sales totaling RMB 231 million, with 38,600 shoppers and 179,000 items purchased.
On the first day of the holiday, at the Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex, travelers streamed through the various duty-free counters. Ms. Liu from Shandong said the duty-free products were highly diverse, and she could even buy domestic goods at duty-free prices. For this Mid-Autumn Festival, she chose tea and ceramics as gifts for family and friends.
A relevant manager from the Sales Department of the Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex (China Duty Free) stated that to ensure a stable supply of duty-free goods during the Mid-Autumn holiday, the store had stocked up large quantities of products in advance. Recently, Customs launched a new "advance customs clearance appointment" system, adding an appointment clearance section to the Hainan Government Service mini program. This allows for fast and efficient appointment clearance online, making it more convenient to replenish and restock popular duty-free items.
