On September 8, reporters learned from the Chongqing Cruise Center that the summer of 2026 has come to a close. In terms of capacity, a total of 48 cruise ships were deployed on the Yangtze River (including 2 inter-provincial non-overnight cruise ships), an increase of 2 ships compared with the same period in 2025. Total passenger capacity reached 21,948 berths, an increase of 2,454 compared with the same period in 2025 (a growth rate of 12.59%). Total bed capacity stood at 17,327 beds, an increase of 2,086 compared with the same period in 2025 (a growth rate of 13.69%).

From the perspective of the summer market, from July to August, Yangtze River Three Gorges cruise ships operated 973 voyages (including 89 inter-provincial non-overnight cruise voyages), a decrease of 4.61% compared with the same period in 2025. A total of 273,500 passenger trips were completed (including 11,400 on inter-provincial non-overnight cruise ships), an increase of 7.85% compared with the same period in 2025. The proportion of family trips during the summer remained roughly the same, with passengers under 18 years old accounting for 26.87% of total traffic, down 0.38 percentage points from the same period in 2025.
