On May 7, Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), announced a firm order for five Airbus A320neo family aircraft. In addition, Scoot also exercised purchase rights for six additional aircraft from its 2014 order with Airbus. The new aircraft will begin delivery progressively from 2028.
The 11 newly added aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM (GTF) engines, bringing Scoot's total order count for the Airbus A320neo family to 20 aircraft.
All new aircraft will feature a single-class cabin configuration, with the A320neo seating 186 passengers and the A321neo seating 236 passengers. Please refer to Attachment A for more information.
The additional A320neo family aircraft will further enhance Scoot's capacity and increase its operational flexibility on routes within a five-to-six-hour flight range, enabling the airline to open new routes while optimizing connectivity with the broader SIA Group network. This move will further deepen and broaden air links between Singapore and Southeast Asia, North Asia, and beyond, reinforcing Singapore's position as a key global aviation hub. The fleet expansion also demonstrates strong confidence in the long-term prospects of air travel, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.
