During the 2026 "May Day" holiday, China's inbound tourism market delivered impressive results, with an increasing number of foreign travelers coming to China to experience the nation's confidence, openness, and inclusiveness firsthand.

Data from Youdao Dictionary shows that during the first four days of the "May Day" holiday, search volume for "China Travel" increased by more than three times year-on-year. Correspondingly, the peak simultaneous online users of Youdao Dictionary's (including Youdao Translator) simultaneous interpretation feature exceeded 10,000, while the average daily usage of the "earphone simultaneous interpretation" feature doubled compared with the pre-holiday period.

In recent years, "China Travel" has become a frequent trending search term on Youdao Dictionary. Almost every favorable policy for inbound tourism has triggered a new wave of searches. By the end of 2024, following the implementation of the policy extending the visa-free stay from 144 hours to 240 hours in most eligible regions across the country, the search volume for "China Travel" began to show exponential growth.
