On September 3, 2026, marking the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Austria, the 2026 China-Austria Friendship Mount Qingcheng Hiking Race and the unveiling ceremony of the China-Austria Friendship Hiking Trail were successfully held in Dujiangyan City, Chengdu City. Liu Zhaohui, Vice Chairman of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), was invited to attend the event, gathering with representatives from the Tourism Office of the Austrian Embassy in China and over 40 guests from various sectors of China and Austria at Mount Qingcheng to jointly witness this mountain culture and tourism exchange event.

As an international organization focused on mountain tourism, the IMTA has always been committed to promoting the protection, development, and sustainable utilization of global mountain tourism resources, as well as fostering cross-regional and cross-border cultural tourism cooperation and people-to-people friendship. The event venue, Mount Qingcheng, is a site of the World Cultural Heritage, World Natural Heritage, and World Irrigation Engineering Heritage, possessing superior mountain ecological resources and profound cultural heritage, making it a typical model for the high-quality development of mountain tourism.
During the event, the Chinese and Austrian sides signed a MoU unveiled the China-Austria Friendship Hiking Trail. Subsequently, guests jointly embarked on a hiking experience tour of Mount Qingcheng, immersing themselves in the unique charm of this World Heritage site amidst lucid waters and lush mountains, measuring friendship with every step and building consensus through exchange.
