The 2025 International Mountain Tourism Day theme activities commenced on 29 May local time in Gran Canaria, Spain. With the theme "Mountains Embrace Seas, Humanity Coexists in Harmony – Mountain Tourism and Future-Oriented Cultural Inclusiveness," the event brought together representatives from international organisations, government officials, industry leaders, experts, scholars, and media from across the globe to explore a path of inclusive mutual learning and shared development for global mountain tourism. The theme activities featured an opening ceremony, thematic forums, a mountain culture and tourism exchange and sharing session, a China-Spain Cultural Tourism Exchange Exhibition, and a "Gran Canaria Night" welcome dinner. Guests participated in various formats, exchanging advanced concepts, discussing frontier issues, and deepening practical cooperation.
