He held posts such as Vice Governor of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and President of the China Tourism Association; was a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee. Having served as Chairman of CNTA in the long term, he has rich experience in administrative leadership, is familiar with the operation of tourism and international tourism organizations, and enjoys broad social network and influence at home and abroad.Since 2017, he has served as the vice chairman of the IMTA.

曾任中国云南省人民政府副省长、国家旅游局局长、中国旅游协会会长、中国人民政治协商会议全国委员会常委等职。长期担任中国国家旅游局局长, 有丰富的行政领导经验 , 熟悉旅游领域和国际旅游组织及机构的运行情况 , 在国际国内业界有广泛的人脉资源和影响力。自2017年起担任国际山地旅游联盟副主席。
