  • Gran Canaria was announced the theme activity of 2025 IMTD

    The International Mountain Tourism Day is an important brand event of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), which has been successfully held for six times and has achieved fruitful results in promoting international exchanges and cooperation in the field of mountain tourism. On September 26th, the Alliance announced at the "2024 IMTA Annual Conference" that the theme event of the "International Mountain Tourism Day" in 2025 will be held in the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. At the meeting, He Yafei, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of OMTA, awarded the host of the theme event of the "International Mountain Tourism Day" in 2025, and Carlos Vélez, the representative of the Chinese affairs of the government of Gran Canaria, introduced the relevant information of the host.
  • 9 new members joined the IMTA Expert Committee

    On September 26th, at the 2024 International Mountain Tourism Alliance Annual Conference, nine outstanding experts from the tourism industry and related fields were officially appointed as new members of IMTA's Expert Committee, injecting new intellectual power and technical support into the prosperity and development of mountain tourism.
  • IMTA awarded certificates to 11 new members

    So far, the number of IMTA members has increased from the initial 126 groups and individuals to the current 199, covering 118 domestic members and 81 overseas members. The membership team is growing and the membership structure and layout are further optimized, including tourism agencies, non-profit organizations, tourism-related enterprises, relevant consulting institutions, tourism professional colleges, airlines, equipment manufacturing enterprises, outdoor sports organizations, etc. in mountain tourism countries and regions around the world, forming a comprehensive and multi-level international mountain tourism cooperation and exchange platform.
  • The 2024 World Mountain Natural and Cultural Photography Exhibition was opened in Xingyi

    The majesty of Mount Everest, the splendor of Hokkaido's flower fields, the animal migration of Mount Kilimanjaro, the uniqueness of Madagascar's baobab trees, the coldness of Antarctic glaciers... On September 26th, the "2024 World Mountain Natural and Cultural Photography Exhibition" hosted by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA) and the Japan-China Friendship Photographers Association opened in Xingyi City, Southwest Guizhou Province. The photography exhibition showcased more than 70 works by more than 30 photographers from around the world, presenting different mountain scenery, ecological environment and human life in more than 20 countries and regions.
  • IMTA released the Certification Criteria of World Famous Tourism Mountains

    At the opening ceremony, the Certification Criteria of World Famous Tourism Mountains was also released. with the first 14 certified sites, including Jungfrau in Switzezrland, Annapurna in Nepal, Table Mountain in South Africa, and Changbai Mountain in China, were recognized as "the World Famous Tourism Mountains". Wu Bihu, director of the Center for Retreation and Tourism Research and an IMTA expert, stated that the recognition of these world-famous mountains will further promote the protection and utilization of mountain tourism resources and actively contribute to the establishment of a global mountain tourism governance system. Besides, the development of the Alliance's standards and evaluation systems has taken a significant step forward.
