The summit will see a series of mountain tourism-related events being organized during the expanse of three days, including an opening ceremony and a thematic forum, a photography/painting exhibition on world heritage mountains and Chongqing’s mountain tourism industry, a seminar on international mountain hydrotherapy tourism, a self-driving tourism industry product promotional conference, the 2021 China Jinfo Mountain International Mountaineering Competition, and the 6th Chongqing Culture and Tourism Consumptions Season Campaign.

These activities aim to promote the city’s profound deposit of mountain tourism resources, full-fledged hydrotherapy, and climatotherapy tourism industry, better protect and preserve the Jinfo Mountain, and build the world’s natural heritage into the first-choice destination for international outdoor exercise enthusiasts.

IMTA is the only non-government, non-profit international organization focusing on mountain tourism, established with the approval of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. It’s also the initiator of the “International Mountain Tourism Day,” which falls on the day when humans first conquered Mount Everest, May 29.

The first “International Mountain Tourism Day” thematic event was held in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal on May 29, 2019.
