Up to 2018, there are 19 routes to climb Mount Everest (1 opened in the 1950s, 2 in the 1960s, 2 in the 1970s, 11 in the 1980s, 3 in the 1990s, and 2 in the 21st century), including South Slope route, North Slope route and 17 other routes. 7,000 people have chose the two traditional routes on the north and south slopes, and the number of people who choose the remaining 17 routes is just over one hundred. Among these routes, there are Himalayan expedition style, no  Sherpa-backup style, and there are also alpine style and solo style.
