On November 11, the International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports (MTOS) 2025, hosted by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), opened in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. Centered on the theme "Integration of Culture, Tourism and Sports Presents a High Quality Life," the Conference featured a series of events including the IMTA Annual Conference 2025, the International Mountain Tourism Promotion Conference 2025, a Field Trip to Guizhou Mountain Tourism Destinations, and the Bank of Guizhou · Mountain Culture, Tourism and Outdoor Sport Equipment Exhibition.
During the IMTA Annual Conference, a new batch of "IMTA International Mountain Hiking Tourism Demonstration Routes" were released. Six hiking routes were selected, including Changbai Mountain Forest Secret Land Mountain Hiking Tourist Route (China), Mundum Trail (Nepal), Wawu Mountain Cliff and Waterfall Hiking Trail (China), Pengzhou Longmenjing Mountain Outdoor Hiking Trail (China), Miluo Shending Mountain Marathon Eco-Hiking (China), and Jinpingshan Outdoor Hiking Trail (China).

To address the needs for specialized and international integrated development of mountain tourism, the IMTA organized experts in 2021, with support from professional institutions such as the European Walking Association, the French Hiking Federation, and the Italian Hiking Tourism Federation, to compile the International Guidebook for the Development of Hiking. Based on this guidebook, the IMTA has now certified a total of 26 "IMTA International Mountain Hiking Tourism Demonstration Routes" globally. These include world-renowned routes like the Chamonix section of the Tour du Mont Blanc (France) and The Lord of the Rings hiking trails (New Zealand), domestic classics like the Five Great Mountains of China hiking routes and Wugong Mountain outdoor traverse, as well as newly popular routes such as the Wawu Mountain Cliff and Waterfall Hiking Trail and the Luang Prabang Nong Khiaw hiking trail. This further expands the global matrix of high-quality mountain hiking destinations, offering hiking enthusiasts more safe, unique, comfortable, and deeply cultural or natural high-quality route options.
