On September 16, the opening ceremony of 2023 International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports was held in Wanfenglin, Xingyi. IMTA international mountain hiking demonstration routes were announced at the conference.
Mountain hiking is one of the most participatory forms of travel and physical integration. In 2021, the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA) organized experts in the European Ramblers Association (ERA) and other professional organizations to prepare the technical standard of mountain hiking tourism - "International Mountain Hiking Tourism Guide", and selected and published the first batch of "IMTA International Mountain Hiking Tourism Demonstration Route". It aiming to according to the Guide, guide hiking destinations to reach high starting points, high standards, international design and construction of benchmarking hiking products, and set a model for the high-quality development of hiking tourism.
In 2023, the International Mountain Tourism Alliance once again selected the "International Mountain Hiking Demonstration Route" on a global scale, and after the industry and experts recommended and selected, 10 routes were finally selected.
