On 29 May, the 2022 International Mountain Tourism Day theme event was held online and themed on “Mountain Tourism Promotes Healthy Life and Cultural Exchange”. The event motivated the New Media network, connected IMTA members, destination agencies, enterprises, and experts from all over the world, and carried out “cloud communication, dialogue, and presentation” around three chapters — “Focus · Mountain”, “Health · Life”, and “Civilization · Communication”. Against the background that the global tourism industry is still facing epidemic crisis and other complex situations, the event helps create a healthier and more positive atmosphere and market for mountain tourism, promote cultural exchange, friendly communication, and mutual integration among countries, to jointly prepare, build, and share a bright future of mountain tourism. At the event, the International Mountain Tourism Alliance cooperated with its members and industry organizations from 5 continents, more than 30 countries to carry out a variety of activities to show the difference mountain tourism features and jointly celebrated the arrival of the International Mountain Tourism Day.
Gran Canaria Tourism of Spain：Celebration of 2022 International Mountain Tourism Day
Good morning to all those attending the International Mountain Tourism Alliance Forum around the world. Greetings to the president and work team of the IMTA.
It is a pleasure to be a member of the IMTA that helps develop mountain tourism and unite all the peoples that form it. The province of Gran Canaria in Spain has been a member since 2022 and we hope to have a great collaboration with the rest of the participants. It is also a great step in further promoting the communication of international cooperation and promoting the IMTA.
The objective of our government is to support mountain tourism and thereby help the development of the towns that manage it. We have many opportunities to move forward on this path ahead of us. It is the future, sustainable and ecological tourism. Tourism for the protection of our environment and Nature.
We must manage to protect our planet and the best way is to teach how to take care of it. Today is a day to arouse public awareness about protecting mountain resources and preserving mountain civilization to initiate a healthy, positive and uplifting lifestyleto build a better future for our citizens to promote the sustainable development of this type of tourism.
The International Mountain Tourism Alliance must have these objectives. Gran Canaria has this Target develops the promotion sostenible, and using mountain tourism resources effectively to alleviate or reduce poverty in backward mountainous areas ensuring mountain tourism safety and rescue, and understanding the impact of global changes, and coming up with relevant countermeasures, protecting mountain ecology and developing sustainable resources will all be included to discuss the new future of high-quality development of mountain tourism.
In Gran Canaria, we are sure that the International Mountain Tourism Day will be a great success and I hope that in the coming years we can celebrate it on our Island a place where everyone who visits us feels happy. We want to show our volcanoes, beaches, cliffs, starry skies and the purest air on the planet. Gran Canaria is the paradise of environmental protection. We are waiting for you soon.
