According to China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CRS), the transportation plan for the Qingming Festival holiday period in the Yangtze River Delta railway network has recently been released. This year's holiday transportation period runs from April 3 to 7, totaling five days. The railway network anticipates transporting 17.6 million passengers, averaging 3.52 million passengers per day—a 6.8% increase year-on-year. The peak travel day is expected to be Qingming Festival itself (April 4), with passenger volume potentially exceeding 3.9 million, setting a new single-day record.
During the holiday period, Shanghai Railway Group will add 50 pairs of temporary passenger trains on top of the 29 pairs already scheduled for spring travel, representing an increase of 18 pairs year-on-year. The total number of passenger train pairs will reach 1,450, providing more travel options and capacity assurance for holiday travelers heading out for spring outings.
