According to a March 17 announcement from the Hangzhou Entry-Exit Frontier Inspection Station, the number of travelers passing through Hangzhou ports during the first quarter of this year (January 1 to March 17) exceeded 1 million, marking an 8.7% increase compared to the same period last year.

Among these, foreign nationals accounted for over 160,000 entries and exits, representing a 37.8% year-on-year rise. Visa-exempt entries surpassed 40,000, surging by over 134%. The majority of foreign arrivals originated from South Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand, with tourism, conferences, and business visits as the primary purposes of entry.

In recent years, the Hangzhou Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station has enhanced the port clearance experience by implementing technological innovations such as self-service terminals for foreign entry card completion, pre-entry biometric collection devices, and the promotion of electronic boarding passes. These measures have driven the digitalization and digitization of clearance processes.

He Gaoyang of the Hangzhou Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station stated that the port will leverage digital innovation to upgrade clearance models, introduce advanced technologies, optimize service quality, and create a more convenient and efficient clearance environment, enabling global travelers to enjoy "smart clearance services" in immigration management.
