Millennial and Gen Z travelers are placing particular emphasis on the experiential and meaningful aspects of their itineraries this year, evident in their choice of destinations, souvenirs, and family trip planning. Moreover, travelers are becoming increasingly savvy about maximizing the value of their trips and are growing more reliant on travel technology.

American Express's newly released 2025 Global Travel Trends Report reveals that 74% of global respondents plan to take 1-3 domestic trips this year, while 59% intend to make 1-3 international trips. Furthermore, 77% of respondents plan to travel abroad as much or more than last year. Additionally, 60% of respondents plan to structure their travel around entertainment activities or sporting events, highlighting the growing trend of "experience-centric" itineraries. Notably, among Millennial and Gen Z travelers, 70% prioritize the journey itself over the destination.
