The Finnish National Tourist Board recently held its 2025 China Roadshow in Beijing and Shanghai. The board noted that overnight stays and spending by Chinese tourists in Finland are steadily increasing, with China firmly maintaining its position as Finland's largest source market in Asia. It anticipates more Chinese visitors will come to Finland to connect with nature and experience the simple pleasures of local life.

In 2024, the number of overnight stays by Chinese tourists in Finland increased by 61% compared to 2023, reaching approximately 200,000. Although this represents only 45% of the 2019 level, it has propelled China to eighth place globally in terms of overnight stays, solidifying its position as Finland's top source market in Asia. Chinese tourists also led international visitors to Finland in per capita spending during single trips, averaging €1,435.

Mr. Teemu Ahola, Director of International Business at Visit Finland, noted the continued recovery in Chinese tourist demand for Finland. Representatives from 25 Finnish tourism companies joined Visit Finland on a visit to Beijing and Shanghai to conduct annual one-on-one business meetings with Chinese tourism operators, further advancing tourism development between the two countries.
