Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee stated during a media briefing before the Executive Council meeting on the 8th that the SAR government will seize every opportunity to promote Hong Kong, showcasing its appeal as an international tourism destination to visitors worldwide.

Lee made the remarks while responding to questions about the visit of American internet personality IShowSpeed (known in Chinese as "Hyperthyroid Brother") to Hong Kong. He noted that the individual's visit has drawn public attention, and the SAR government is actively supporting it. The Hong Kong Tourism Board has proactively contacted the relevant parties to provide necessary assistance. He emphasized that all sectors of society must work together to showcase Hong Kong's strengths, take proactive measures, and create a positive experience for visitors, allowing them to feel the city's warmth and hospitality.

He added that numerous major events will be held in Hong Kong throughout April, including the inaugural World Internet Conference Asia-Pacific Summit. The SAR government will continue its promotional and support efforts to attract diverse visitors for tourism, exhibitions, and conferences, thereby advancing the development of the events economy.
