According to the Chongqing Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station on April 1, from January to March this year, the passenger throughput at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport exceeded 520,000, with over 4,000 inbound and outbound flights—representing year-on-year increases of approximately 48% and 25%, respectively. The number of foreign travelers entering and exiting the country reached nearly 140,000, marking a nearly 1.5-fold increase compared to the same period last year.
As a major international aviation gateway hub, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport facilitates visa-free entry for a large number of foreign travelers, who begin their China journeys from Chongqing. During the first quarter of this year, over 44,000 foreign nationals entered via the airport under visa-free and 240-hour transit visa-free policies, accounting for 70% of total foreign arrivals—a threefold increase compared to pre-policy implementation. The top five countries of origin were Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and South Korea.
