Recently, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) formally signed a tripartite tourism cooperation memorandum of understanding with the Haikou Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports, and Tongcheng Travel in Haikou, China. This collaboration aims to integrate government and market resources, deepen Sino-Thai tourism cooperation, enhance market synergy, jointly promote high-quality Chinese tourist visits to Thailand, and elevate bilateral “two-way tourism” cooperation to new heights.
The three parties will establish a multi-tiered, sustainable collaboration mechanism. The Tourism Authority of Thailand will focus on strategic coordination, two-way tourism promotion, exhibition exchanges, KOL visits, and joint tourism product development with Haikou's Tourism and Culture Bureau. As a core city within the Hainan Free Trade Port, Haikou's strategic position and visitor potential position it as a key partner in deepening Sino-Thai tourism cooperation.

Meanwhile, the collaboration between the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Tongcheng Travel will focus on areas such as tourism data analysis, marketing, brand communication, and itinerary optimization. This partnership aims to leverage the platform's technological and market capabilities to comprehensively enhance the travel experience for tourists from both countries. As one of China's leading online travel service platforms, Tongcheng Travel has previously established successful collaborations with the Tourism Authority of Thailand in promoting green tourism and organizing themed marketing campaigns.
The signing of this tripartite cooperation agreement represents a significant step for Thailand in solidifying its position as the preferred outbound travel destination for Chinese tourists. By strengthening positive image promotion, expanding high-quality product channels, and enhancing digital service capabilities, the collaboration aims to provide Chinese tourists with more convenient, comfortable, and high-quality travel experiences, thereby fostering long-term, healthy, and sustainable development in Sino-Thai tourism cooperation.
