Recently, Ctrip Group and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) announced the deepening of their strategic partnership. The two parties will jointly promote Turkey as a “super destination” for global travelers. The collaboration will focus on tapping into emerging Asian source markets, comprehensively showcasing Turkey's cultural, natural, and diverse travel experiences.
Ctrip data reveals that inbound flight bookings to Turkey surged 38% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, while hotel reservations increased by 16%. The United Kingdom, Germany, and China remain the primary source markets, with Indonesia demonstrating particularly remarkable growth—bookings soared 178% year-on-year—highlighting the robust potential of Asian source markets.
Under the cooperation agreement, both parties will jointly enhance airline capacity coordination, expand accommodation resources, and optimize attraction and itinerary services. Future initiatives will include joint marketing campaigns to systematically promote tourism resources and unique experiences in destinations such as Istanbul, Cappadocia, Antalya, and Izmir.
Leveraging its global marketing network and technology platform, Ctrip Group will focus on covering key Asia-Pacific markets including mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia to foster two-way tourism exchange between Asia and Europe. Ctrip has already established a local office and assembled a team in Istanbul to strengthen on-the-ground operations and market responsiveness.
As part of its commitment to sustainable tourism, Ctrip has implemented platform-wide labeling for Turkish hotels certified by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), enabling travelers to easily select eco-friendly accommodations. Recently, Istanbul was selected as one of Ctrip's “Top 100 Global Destinations for 2025,” further highlighting its appeal as an international tourism hub.
Amanda Wang, Vice President of Ctrip Group, stated that Turkey combines breathtaking natural landscapes with profound cultural heritage. The collaboration between the two parties aims to transform these resources into warm, high-quality travel experiences. More tourism products integrating cultural authenticity with digital innovation will be launched in the future.
Sinan Seha Türkseven, General Manager of the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, noted that Turkey has become the world's fourth-largest tourist destination and values its partnership with Ctrip. Building on the long history of friendly exchanges between Turkey and China, Turkey looks forward to welcoming more Chinese tourists and is committed to providing premium travel services.
