Hong Kong's tourism sector continues to show robust growth momentum. The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced on November 17 that the city welcomed approximately 41 million visitor arrivals in the first ten months of this year, marking a 12% year-on-year increase.

HKTB data indicates that preliminary visitor arrivals in October reached about 4.6 million, up 12% compared to the same period last year. Among these, Mainland Chinese visitors increased by 10% to approximately 3.452 million.

In the first ten months of this year, Mainland Chinese visitors reached over 31.44 million, up 11% year-on-year. Non-Mainland visitors totaled 9.62 million, rising 16% year-on-year, with particularly strong performance from source markets including Taiwan, Australia, and the Middle East.

Cui Dingbang, Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Tourism Association, stated in an interview that based on visitor figures for the first ten months of this year, Hong Kong's tourism sector has maintained robust growth momentum with satisfactory visitor increases, particularly a notable rise in mainland visitors compared to previous years. Industry events such as the “Harbour Parade” held in October, coupled with the commencement of the 15th National Games at the end of October, played a positive role in attracting visitors. Looking ahead, Cui expressed confidence in achieving this year's target of attracting 49 million visitor arrivals.

Separately, the Airport Authority Hong Kong announced that Hong Kong International Airport handled 5.37 million passengers and 34,465 aircraft movements in October, representing year-on-year increases of 18% and 9.1% respectively. Routes to Southeast Asia, mainland China, and Taiwan recorded the most significant growth during the month. Transit/transfer passengers surged by 50.2% year-on-year to 1.5 million.

In the first ten months of this year, the airport handled over 50 million passenger movements and 325,000 aircraft movements, representing increases of 15.1% and 8.9% respectively compared to the same period last year.
