The Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with multiple agencies, launched the “Trusted Thailand” certification program in Bangkok on November 13.
According to reports, this initiative represents a long-term effort by TAT to enhance tourism safety and service standards. It focuses on improving institutional frameworks while helping to shape Thailand's image as a safe and secure travel destination. Participating tourism businesses must undergo evaluation across four key areas: comprehensive safety measures, secure and transparent electronic payment systems, multilingual services and professional visitor reception capabilities, as well as safe, convenient transportation routes with clear signage. Approximately 5,000 hotels, restaurants, attractions, shopping centers, and leisure venues nationwide are expected to participate in the assessment. Certified businesses will receive promotional support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand through domestic and international channels, with the certification valid for two years.
In his address, Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Attakorn, stated that the “Trust Thailand” logo serves as a tangible representation of Thailand's tourism safety and reliability, helping to boost travelers' confidence in returning to Thailand. This initiative further enhances international visitors' trust in Thailand's tourism environment by continuously refining safety standards, strengthening inter-departmental coordination, improving communication efficiency, and optimizing visitor services.
Thapinee, Director General of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, emphasized that the “Trust Thailand” initiative is not merely a tourism quality standard but also embodies the shared mission of public and private sectors to jointly promote Thailand as a safe, high-quality, and trustworthy travel destination.
Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, remarked that over the past 50 years since establishing diplomatic relations, China and Thailand have continuously deepened their friendly ties, with tourism cooperation playing a vital role throughout. Safety remains a key factor influencing travelers' choices. Thailand's launch of the “Trust Thailand” initiative holds significant importance and deserves active affirmation. This initiative will provide Chinese tourists with safer and higher-quality guarantees during their travels in Thailand.
