To deepen the development of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor and create distinctive premium cultural tourism routes, Chongqing launched five Bashu cultural tourism itineraries on the 6th, offering visitors high-quality, diverse cultural experiences.
According to reports, Chongqing has actively implemented the “Stringing Pearls into a Chain” project in recent years. This initiative accelerates the enhancement of scenic spots, promotes infrastructure connectivity, improves public facilities, links premium attractions into chains, and clusters core resources into groups. Through phased development, it aims to create premium routes along the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor.
The five premium routes unveiled are: “Two Rivers, Four Banks: Mountain-Water Metropolis,” “City of Heroes: Red Memories,” “Magnificent Yangtze: Poetic Three Gorges,” “Dazu Rock Carvings: World Heritage,” and “Wujiang Gallery: Colorful Wuling.” These routes leverage branded transportation networks, cultural-geographical connections, or cultural tourism IPs to cover representative landscapes, promote organic resource integration, and meet diverse visitor demands.
Notably, each route features customized tourism products developed jointly by the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission and local travel agencies. Specific offerings include: - “Century Voyage: Poetic Three Gorges” cruise tour - “Heroic Youth: Chongqing Growth and Inspiration Camp” study tour - “Shu-Yu You” 6-day Bashu tour - “Chongqing Karst Adventure” - " Majestic Landscapes Reflecting New Charm 6-Day Tour." These offerings provide one-stop services encompassing transportation, accommodation, guided tours, and specialty activities, integrating urban experiences, revolutionary education, natural wonders, world heritage sites, and ethnic cultural elements.
Zhu Mao, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Development Committee of Culture and Tourism, stated that the launch of these routes not only deepens the implementation of the “Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor Construction Plan” but also serves as a vivid practice to invigorate cultural and tourism consumption and cultivate a range of high-quality cultural tourism products. The initiative aims to promote “culture-tourism+” integration and innovation by consolidating core resources such as landscapes, cultural heritage, revolutionary sites, and ecological assets.
Moving forward, Chongqing will launch a premium route promotion campaign to encourage districts, counties, and cultural tourism enterprises to strengthen their commitment to excellence. By meticulously planning and refining these routes, each will become a compelling destination that leaves visitors eager to return. The goal is to establish these five premium routes as the signature attractions and shining examples of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor.
