On September 11, the 2025 World Tourism Cooperation and Development Conference, hosted by the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), was successfully held at the Shougang Park in Beijing. As one of the key thematic forums of the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services, this year’s conference was held under the theme “Digital-Intelligent Tourism for a Win-Win Future.” More than 600 delegates from 66 countries gathered in Beijing to participate in a series of events, discussing pathways for cooperation and development trends in global tourism in the digital-intelligent era.

The conference featured important segments such as opening speeches, mayors’ dialogues, and industry voices. It also released the *World Tourism Cities Development Report (2024–2025)* and the *World Tourism Destination Competitive Potential Index Report (2025)*. Focusing on topics such as the digital transformation of urban tourism, leveraging digital intelligence for high-quality inbound tourism, and exchanges and cooperation in digital-intelligent tourism, the conference provided a platform for collaboration and dialogue among global tourism stakeholders.

The global tourism industry is currently undergoing profound structural adjustments, particularly with artificial intelligence and big data technologies reshaping tourism industry chains and redefining development paradigms. Several international speakers shared practical experiences and development concepts from their respective regions during their addresses, unanimously endorsing a tourism development approach that balances digital intelligence with sustainability.

During the conference, two major outcome reports—the *World Tourism Cities Development Report (2024–2025)* and the *World Tourism Destination Competitive Potential Index Report (2025)*—were released. These reports provide a comprehensive evaluation of urban development indicators, offering valuable references for industry growth and policy formulation.

As the world’s first international tourism organization initiated by Beijing with a focus on cities, the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) has been dedicated to building platforms and promoting cooperation since its establishment in 2012. Its membership has grown from an initial 58 to 257, spanning 87 countries and regions worldwide, earning it the reputation of the “fastest-growing international tourism organization.” The 2025 World Tourism Cooperation and Development Conference continued WTCF’s mission of “building platforms and facilitating cooperation,” using digital intelligence as a new bond to unite global tourism forces and jointly chart a future of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
