The reporter learned from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism that on the morning of November 15th, Beijing time, the list of "Best Tourist Villages" for 2024 was announced at the 122nd meeting of the Executive Committee of the United Nations World Tourism Organization held in Colombia. Seven Chinese villages were on the list. Up to now, China has been selected for a total of 15, ranking first in the world.

According to the data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 1,597 key villages and towns for rural tourism have been launched so far, and rural tourism has increasingly become an important driving force for the recovery of the tourism market, the development of county-level economy, and the expansion of urban and rural consumption. In the first three quarters of 2024, the number of visitors to rural tourism nationwide was 2.248 billion, an increase of 15.5% year on year; The total revenue of the reception was 1.32 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.8% year on year.

Since 2021, China has participated in the selection of the "Best Tourist Village" of the United Nations World Tourism Organization for four consecutive years.
