On September 9th, the 2024 South African Tourism Board China Roadshow Beijing stop was held at the Kerry Hotel in Beijing. This is an important annual event of the South African Tourism Board. A total of 45 exhibitors participated in the exhibition, including the South African Provincial Tourism Bureau, local travel agencies, hotels and other related product suppliers and airlines. The South African Tourism Board also held a media conference in Beijing at the same time as the industry roadshow. The industry roadshows for the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets continued on September 11th and September 13th.
The 2024 South African Tourism Bureau China Roadshow Media Conference marks the 30th anniversary of South Africa's democratic freedom and the 26th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Africa. With the successful holding of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the relationship between China and South Africa has entered a new era. It not only strengthens the cooperation between the two sides in political, economic, cultural and other fields, but also injects strong impetus into the development of tourism in the two countries. In this context, South Africa is committed to creating new tourism products and actively advancing in the fields of business and exhibition tourism, strengthening market layout, in order to attract more Chinese tourists to travel to South Africa for tourism experience, and jointly promote the tourism cooperation between China and South Africa to a new height.
On this occasion, the South African Tourism Board's China Roadshow 2024 was held, aiming to showcase South Africa's unique charm as a tourist destination to the Chinese tourism industry and media through face-to-face communication and introduction.
