Foreign tourist groups from Hong Kong and Macao can enter Hainan visa-free for 144 hours

The National Immigration Administration of China announced today that starting from July 30, 2024, the 144-hour visa-free policy for foreign tourist groups from Hong Kong and Macao will be implemented in Hainan.

Citizens of countries that have established diplomatic relations with China holding ordinary passports can enter Hainan for tourism after arriving in Hong Kong and Macao through legally registered travel agencies in Hong Kong and Macao. They can stay for up to 144 hours without a visa if they meet the requirements of the mutual visa exemption agreement signed with China or other visa exemption policies of the Chinese government. The entry and exit ports are all open ports in Hainan Province set up by the state. The entire group must enter and exit the port, and the scope of activities is within the administrative area of Hainan Province. The stay time is calculated from 0:00 on the day after entry.
