The highly anticipated exhibition, "The Peak of the Pyramid: Grand Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Civilization," held its opening ceremony today at the Shanghai Museum (People's Square). All 788 precious artifacts from different periods of ancient Egyptian civilization are now in place and will be officially open to the public on July 19th.

As the largest and highest-level exhibition of ancient Egyptian artifacts in Asia, over 95% of the artifacts in this exhibition are making their first appearance in Asia. The exhibition tells independent narratives through three themes: "The Land of the Pharaohs," "The Secrets of Saqqara," and "The World of Tutankhamun," interpreting the profound connotations of ancient Egyptian civilization from different perspectives.

The 788 ancient Egyptian artifacts in this exhibition are carefully selected from the latest archaeological discoveries in seven key Egyptian museums, including the Egyptian National Museum, the Luxor Museum, and the Suez Museum, as well as the Saqqara region. This is the first time that a Chinese official museum has cooperated with the Egyptian government, vividly demonstrating a dialogue between the two ancient civilizations across time and space.
