Initially, 17 destinations were included in the first batch of state-level tourist resorts in 2015, selected for their excellent public information services and growing popularity. Since then, the evaluation and selection process has been conducted annually.

These newly recognized resorts are expected to boost their respective local economies and attract both domestic and international tourists. Each resort offers unique attractions and experiences that showcase the diverse cultural and natural landscapes of China.

For instance, Gubei Watertown is known for its picturesque scenery of the Simatai Great Wall and its historic architecture. Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort features extensive marine life exhibits and amusement parks. Changshan Islands Tourist Resort is celebrated for its beautiful coastal views and recreational activities, while Tongguan Kiln Tourist Resort offers an in-depth exploration of the region's rich ceramic heritage.
