According to the survey results of Kyodo News, against the backdrop of rising prices and shrinking real wages, the enthusiasm of Japanese people for domestic tourism during the "Golden Week" of May Day this year has declined, and the number of domestic tourists to many popular scenic spots has decreased. The "Golden Week" of May Day in Japan includes several national holidays from the end of April to the beginning of May, which is usually the peak season for tourism consumption.

Kyodo News analyzed the passenger flow within 500 meters around 60 major railway stations in 47 prefectures across Japan based on data provided by a technology company in Tokyo. The results showed that during the "Golden Week" of May Day this year, the number of domestic tourists around 53 stations decreased compared to the same period last year.
