The ongoing tourism boom in Harbin has been benefitting its neighboring areas, as tourists venture out to explore the quaint corners of Heilongjiang Province. Hengdaohezizhen in Mudanjiang, a city to the east of Harbin and west of the border with Russia, has had visitors trickling in to lap up the fun of its little alleys and streets. From hearty local dishes, Russian architecture and costume leasing, to creative photo opportunities amid snowy, small-town scenery, Hengdaohezizhen beckons tourists looking for winter adventure.
