The launching ceremony of the 10th Beijing Happy Ice and Snow Season series of activities was held at the National Speed Skating Stadium "Ice Silk Belt" yesterday, and the first Beijing Speed Skating Open was also held on the same day.
The 2023-2024 ISU World Cup speed skating Beijing station will be held at the "Ice Silk Belt" from the 17th to the 19th. The Chinese team won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals, and the Winter Olympic venue will be reenacted during the warm-up. The first Beijing speed skating open competition will be held one week after the end of the World Cup Beijing station, with nearly 200 athletes participating.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, the 10th Beijing Citizens' Happy Ice and Snow Season series of activities officially kicked off on the 26th and is expected to last until April 2024. The purpose is to strengthen the promotion and popularization of ice and snow sports knowledge and skills through various forms of ice and snow events, stimulate the vitality of the ice and snow sports industry, manage and utilize the Beijing Winter Olympic legacy, and create a fitness circle for ice and snow sports.
It is understood that during the series of winter sports events, no less than 30,000 ice and snow consumption vouchers will be issued successively. Citizens can use the ice and snow consumption vouchers to enjoy some discounts on tickets for ice and snow venues in Beijing and deduct the ticket fees from the face value of the consumption vouchers, which will drive more people to enter the ice rink and snow field and promote the consumption of ice and snow sports.
This year's snow season, the Winter Olympic venues such as the "Snow Dragon" of the National Bobsleigh and Luge Center and the "Snow Swallow" of the National Alpine Skiing Center will host high-level international and domestic competitions and open to the public. Currently, the "Snow Swallow" located in Yanqing, Beijing, officially "opened" on the 25th, and ski enthusiasts can check in at the "Haituo Bowl" to experience the 14.5-kilometer long super-long snow trail.
It is reported that this ice and snow season is also one of the series of activities of the 10th National Public Ice and Snow Season. The theme of the 10th National Public Ice and Snow Season is "Happy Ice and Snow, Create a Future Together".
