In late November, the light snow has passed. At the south-west end of the coastline of Chinese Mainland, Dongxing Zhushan Village, Fangchenggang, Guangxi, is still warm as summer. Many tourists come here to admire this beautiful fishing village on the Sino Vietnamese border, making the weather as hot as this. It is very pleasant to stroll along the clean and secluded bamboo forest road and the quaint old street, making people linger on and forget to return.
Zhushan Village faces Mong Cai, Vietnam across the sea. The Beilun River, the border river between China and Vietnam, flows out from here. The No. 1 boundary marker of "Qinzhou Boundary of Qing Dynasty" near the mouth of Beilun River, Laojie Street that originated in the late Qing Dynasty, the zero starting point memorial altar of Guangxi border highway, the landmark square connected by mountains and seas, and other scenic spots, have formed a unique border gate cultural tourism route, attracting millions of tourists every year.
Xu Chengyu, the first secretary of Zhushan Village, said that Zhushan Village is using ancient monuments, ancient streets and other resources to build an eco-tourism scenic spot, and guide villagers to carry out catering reception, homestay services and other projects to enhance tourism service functions.
Fangchenggang is located along the border and coast, relying on the advantages of border and sea and historical and cultural resources. It is vigorously developing characteristic border and sea tourism. In 2021, after the completion of the national-level cultural and tourism public service agency integration village-level pilot in Zhushan Village, Fangchenggang selected Zhushan as a model to expand and implement a number of conditional administrative villages such as Jiaodong, Jiaowei and Hezhou to carry out integration pilot projects. By the end of 2022, 12 village-level cultural and tourism service centers had been established in border counties and districts of Fangchenggang, and a demonstration belt of village-level cultural and tourism integration in border areas had been initially formed.
Among them, Jiaowei is the only settlement of the Jing ethnic group, a maritime ethnic group in China. Together with Shanxin and Wutou, it forms the "Jing ethnic group three islands". With its unique Jing ethnic customs and coastal resources, it receives more than 3 million tourists annually.
Recently, in the Dongxing Jing Nationality Museum, the "Magnificent Guangxi, Colorful Border" Chinese literary and art experts' border tour group was attracted by the Jing nationality girl Ruan Yuanyuan's playing of the Jing nationality folk song "Wind Blowing Over the Bridge" on the single-stringed instrument. The group visited the "Ho Chi Minh Trail on the Sea", Beigang's hometown, Lanshan Ancient Fishing Village, Zhushan Village, Jing Island, Dongxing Port, etc., and enjoyed the border customs on the border between China and Vietnam.
Zhou Wendao, a member of the Chinese Essay Society, visited Fangchenggang many years ago for work reasons. He said that Fangchenggang is a beautiful and patriotic city, not only an important window for China's opening up to the outside world, but also an important cradle of marine culture. This time, he really went into Fangchenggang from a literary perspective and felt a lot. To enter Fangchenggang, discover Fangchenggang, and write about Fangchenggang is a kind of luck and happiness for writers.
On the morning of the 25th, the Beilun River Bridge connecting Dongxing in Fangchenggang and Mangjie in Vietnam was bustling with activity, and the Dongxing National Gate Scenic Area gradually became lively. Shops opened their doors to welcome customers, and many Sino-Vietnamese border residents were selling Vietnamese snacks and specialty goods, attracting visitors from all over. Vietnamese coffee, cashews, various cookies, mahogany products... early tourists began to "buy, buy, buy" and had a good time.
As a border area, cross-border tourism is an important part of the cultural and tourism industry in Fangchenggang City. According to official statistics, since the establishment of the Guangxi Fangchenggang Border Tourism Pilot Zone in March 2018, the tourism economy of Fangchenggang has grown rapidly. The total number of tourists received in that year was 27.6537 million, an increase of 36.0%. The number of people entering and leaving the Dongxing Port reached 12.19 million, an increase of 22.2% year-on-year. In 2019, it received 36.5169 million domestic tourists, an increase of 32.95% year-on-year. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of tourists received in 2020-2022 decreased. However, in 2023, the tourism market in Fangchenggang will pick up. From January to October, the Dongxing Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station has inspected 3.5 million passengers, and the number of inbound tourists has reached 113,354 by the end of October 25th.
Guangxi is the only province in China that is adjacent to ASEAN on land and sea. In recent years, Guangxi has vigorously developed border cultural tourism and deepened the construction of a border tourism development pattern. At present, the Fangchenggang Border Tourism Pilot Zone has completed various reform pilot tasks. In 2022, Guangxi issued the "Three-Year Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Border Customs Tourism Belt", proposing to create seven major brands such as "the most beautiful border customs scenic road", "the beautiful scenery of the border customs", "the good show of the border customs", and "the beautiful accommodation of the border customs", and striving to build the front line of the border into a first-class tourist destination.
It is reported that Fangchenggang is promoting the upgrading of core cultural and tourism scenic spots, deepening the development of characteristic cultural and tourism industries, and promoting the in-depth integration and development of "culture + tourism" and "sports + tourism". The "China-Vietnam International Trade and Tourism Expo" jointly organized by Dongxing and Mangjie is about to restart, and the Dongxing International Cross-border Football Super League is about to be launched in Dongxing, which will create a brand sports event of "football event + port economy + tourism + traditional culture + national fitness" with multiple integration and development.
