In order to promote the development of Thailand's tourism industry, Thailand's new Prime Minister Seta Thavisin recently visited southern Thailand, said that after the new government took office, the tourist visa validity will be extended to 90 days.

He also said that after taking office, he will renovate airports throughout Thailand and build a new airport in Chiang Mai and Phuket Island, the two main tourist destinations, and the new airport in Phuket island will be dedicated to international flights.

Phuket is Thailand's main source of tourism income. At present, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand has only recovered to 30% of the pre-coronavirus level, so it is necessary to find ways to make it easier for tourists to visit Thailand, so that tourists from more countries can visit Thailand without a visa. In addition, the processing time for Chinese tourists to visit Thailand has been shortened from 14 working days to seven working days.

According to the latest statistics of the Thai tourism department, from July 31 to August 6 this year, the average daily number of tourists visiting Thailand was more than 80,000, and the cumulative number of international tourists this year reached 16 million.
