Recently, the Hong Kong Tourism Board led the formulation of the "Professional and Quality Tourism Service Pledge" and held a launching ceremony to encourage the tourism industry in Hong Kong to focus on five key areas: professional knowledge, integrity, quality, efficiency and listening and communication.

Dr Pang Yiu-kai, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, said that professional and quality service has always been one of the keys to the success of Hong Kong's tourism industry. According to the latest survey, tourists' overall satisfaction with Hong Kong reached 8.8 points, 0.3 points higher than before the epidemic. It is a tribute to the tireless efforts of the trades and front-line practitioners to keep their posts. The Hong Kong Tourism Board has taken the lead in formulating the "Professional and Quality Tourism Service Pledge" to encourage the tourism industry in Hong Kong to strive for excellence, so that visitors can enjoy a good experience once they arrive in Hong Kong. At the same time, various training videos and promotional activities will be launched in succession to consolidate Hong Kong's status as a world-class tourist city with the industry.

The Pledge of Professional Quality Travel Services sets out five key points that illustrate how different industries can provide the best experience for visitors in different roles. These include: 1. Professional knowledge - Have professional knowledge and skills to provide customers with the most professional advice. 2. Integrity and reliability - Provide reliable and honest service, provide customers with the product information they need. 3. Excellent quality - to provide quality products and services. 4. Excellent efficiency - accurate and rapid service, effectively solve customer problems and needs. 5. At the launch ceremony, nearly 100 representatives and front-line practitioners from eight tourism-related industries, including tourism, aviation, transportation, hotels, catering, retail, scenic spots, and exhibition services, responded enthusiastically, taking the lead in spontaneously participating in showing solidarity and support determination, and promising to provide the most professional and high-quality services and the best experience for passengers.

As the "Hello Hong Kong" global campaign to distribute 1 million "Hong Kong Courtesy" coupons to visitors to Hong Kong has been well received by visitors, the Hong Kong Tourism Board plans to distribute 1 million more "Hong Kong Courtesy" through different travel websites and travel agents around the world, and the applicable shops will be increased to more than 3,600. Travellers who order Hong Kong travel products can choose to redeem the latest rewards for free, enjoy welcome drinks at selected bars, restaurants and hotels, or use the coupon directly at different attractions, retail and catering outlets to enjoy HK $100 off. Upon arrival in Hong Kong, independent travellers can also collect them at the Hong Kong International Airport, the Passenger Information Centre at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, or the new Kowloon Redemption Centre at the Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The number of visitors to Hong Kong is expected to reach 30 million in 2023

Hong Kong travel agents predict that the total number of visitors to Hong Kong is expected to reach 30 million in 2023. A series of events will continue to attract mainland Chinese visitors to Hong Kong, including the "Hong Kong Happy Shopping Festival", the first "Asia's 50 Best Bars" award ceremony, the "Happy Victoria Harbour Carnival" and so on. The Asian romantic film "Under Parallel Skies", which takes Hong Kong as its location, has also aroused more Southeast Asian tourists' interest in Hong Kong due to its starring roles of popular Thai actor Win Metawin and famous Filipino actress Janella Salvador.

Travel agents in Guangzhou added that bookings for Hong Kong Tours have surged since June, especially at popular attractions such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Victoria Harbour and the Peak. The popularity of new online celebrity attractions such as the Hong Kong Palace Museum and M+ Museum has increased significantly, and has become a must-have for young people to punch in. Hong Kong's "cultural tourism" as a selling point is well recognized by young people. Nowadays, many tourists visiting Hong Kong are more willing to walk into small shops, talk with the owners or experience handicrafts, which makes many traditional shops see a breakthrough in transformation. After the epidemic, people have a deeper demand for tourism, and the quality of tourism products and service level correspondingly have a more "profound" impact on tourists. He plans to add the wet market experience to Hong Kong's tourism products, so that more people can enter the human fireworks of the city's essence. At the same time, to promote the Central Market itinerary, reserve time for visitors to participate in different types of local cultural activities, visit more than 100 retail shops and restaurants, and roam around Hong Kong local small shops, time-honored brands and social enterprises.
