At the "2022 World Tourism Alliance - Xianghu Dialogue", Zurab Polollikashvili, Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, said that the global tourism industry is recovering and is optimistic that it will recover to 80% to 95% of the pre-pandemic level. In the future, the United Nations World Tourism Organization will continue to take the green development of tourism as its theme and devote more funds to realizing sustainable development. China's investment will also help developing countries around the world continue to recover their economies.

Zurab Polollikashvili said that between 2020 and 2022, the world tourism industry will lose about $3 trillion, and China's tourism industry will also lose a lot. But all of this will lead to more opportunities, but also full of hope.

Tourism in other parts of the world has been recovering slowly since last year, and now the Asia-Pacific region is also struggling to recover. Zurab Polollikashvili says he hopes world tourism will return to pre-pandemic conditions. Before 2019, Chinese tourists made about 160 million overseas trips every year, making them a new force in the global tourism market, he said, adding that he hopes similar figures will be generated after China opens up.
