A 1,400-year-old gingko tree in the ancient Guanyin temple in Xi'an City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, welcomes autumn with its magnificent golden yellow foliage. It is said that the tree was planted by Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, who reigned between 626 and 649. Now, the ancient tree is on the protection list of ancient trees in China.
The ancient Guanyin temple is located in Luohandong village, Chang'an District, Xi'an city. It was built about 1,400 years ago, and it is one of the well-known thousand-year-old temples in Zhongnan mountain.
