G Adventures is welcoming its ‘little red ship’ - G Expedition - back to the water with savings for travellers looking to book the ultimate bucket list trip this upcoming 2022 / 2023 Antarctic season.

Two and half years since the global pandemic forced the ship out of service, the G Adventures team and crew can’t wait to be back leading with service and delivering a programme of life-changing activities onboard, while exploring one of the world’s most remote and pristine regions.

Brian Young, managing director for G Adventures in EMEA, says the G Expedition, which is often referred to as the ‘floating classroom’, offers a high level of on-board education to travellers as they explore the beauty of Antarctica’s landscape and fascinating wildlife.

“Travellers booking trips aboard our G Expedition are not only seeking a once in a lifetime adventure, but are also curious about the wildlife and ecosystems they encounter in the Antarctic region. The ship’s long-standing citizen science projects and education programme help them to make the most of their Antarctic expedition. As part of our commitment to environmental protection, our Expedition staff also collect data from points in Antarctica where researchers struggle to acquire information.

“We want to inspire travellers to become custodians of the oceans and our onboard programme helps travellers to understand more about the conservation of the birds, marine mammals, marine wildlife and ecosystems they will encounter - as well as global climate change and its impact on the world - all delivered by our team of scientific experts, or “Scientists in Residence”, who facilitate the talks.

“Our ‘photographer-in-residence’ helps travellers to capture the different wildlife they spot while both on and off the ship, helping to preserve these amazing memories and allowing them to share them with loved ones.

“With more of our travellers seeking those bigger ticket adventures in 2022, this a great time to snap up a deal and head to one of the most incredible places on the planet. And for those who can’t travel this year, our 2023 / 2024 dates are now also live to book,” says Young.

Example trips include:
- Antarctica Classic - Passing huge icebergs in the flat calm of a polar morning will reshape the way you look at your world. Encounter huge whales, enormous rookeries of penguins, and stunning landscapes few have ever witnessed. This 11-day expedition will introduce you to the magic of the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula.
= Antarctica Classic In-Depth - Like our "Antarctica Classic" tour, this 13-day expedition introduces you to the magic of the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, but adds on two additional days to better explore its majesty. Part of the reward of arriving in Antarctica is the challenge of negotiating the Drake Passage — and the G Expedition will bring you there safely. Encounter leopard seals lazing on ice floes and immense rookeries of penguins surrounded by towering glaciers.
