The UK government is set to relax travel restrictions for under-18s arriving in the UK – including Northern Ireland!

From 4:00am on 22 November they will be treated as fully vaccinated at the border and will be able to skip self-isolation, Day 8 tests and pre-departure testing although they will still be required to take one post-arrival test.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “By simplifying the rules for international travel for all under-18s coming to England, we’re bringing further good news for families looking to unite with loved ones, and another great boost for the travel sector.”

Also taking effect at the same time is recognition of vaccines on the World Health Organisation’s Emergency Use Listing (WHOEUL) for inbound arrivals which adds Sinovac, Sinopharm and Covaxin to the list of approved vaccines.

Shapps continued: “As we continue to expand our recognition of international vaccines, the announcements mark the next step in our restart of international travel.”
