On February 13th, He Yafei, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of IMTA to preside over a secretariat working meeting at the headquarters of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), during which the work plan for 2025 was discussed and deployed. The meeting aimed to further unify ideas, clarify responsibilities, and ensure effective implementation of tasks.
Fu Yingchun, Vice Chairman and Executive Secretary-General of IMTA reported on recent work, stating, "In September of last year, the IMTA Council and Annual General Conference reviewed the 'Key Work Points of the IMTA for 2025'. In accordance with the leadership's request to further refine the annual work plan, the secretariat promptly studied the key work focus for the fourth quarter. Targeting members and oriented towards problem-solving, IMTA Secretariat personnel conducted work research through various forms. Based on this, the annual work plan was further optimized, tasks were broken down, and documents were issued to various departments for implementation. Moving forward, we will optimize and improve the 22 items across 7 categories outlined in the annual work plan in connection with reality. Firstly, we will focus on key points and high-quality service to members. This includes optimizing the structure and expanding the scale, innovating member liaison and service mechanisms, organizing members to participate in important IMTA activities such as international conferences, forums, exhibitions, and key events of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and continuously innovating member training models to create new brands. Secondly, preparations for the 'International Mountain Tourism Day' theme activities should be accelerated according to high standards and task divisions. Following the mechanism proposed by Guizhou Province for the International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports, we should proactively engage in early communication and research. Thirdly, we should continuously innovate operational mechanisms and strive for new progress in brand building, platform operation, evaluation systems, and communication and promotion. We should achieve high-quality completion of the annual work objectives in line with the opinions put forward by Mr.He Yafei today."
Heads of IMTA Secretariat departments reported on our specific plans for the annual departmental work and the progress of recent key tasks, with a particular focus on the preparations for the upcoming "International Mountain Tourism Day" theme activities.
After listening to the report on the IMTA Secretariat's work, He Yafei highly praised and fully acknowledged the work done in the past year, noting that the IMTA has transitioned from our establishment phase to our growth phase. He pointed out that although the IMTA has established a significant influence domestically, our international recognition still needs further improvement. He called on all members to continue our efforts to promote the expansion of the IMTA's influence globally, achieving broader and deeper international cooperation and exchanges.
He emphasized that the IMTA's primary task is to serve our members. To better understand and meet member needs, special surveys should be conducted annually for key members to gain insights into our actual needs and pain points, based on which targeted cooperation and service plans can be formulated. Meanwhile, to ensure the IMTA's sustained development and vitality, a member invitation plan should be established annually to actively recruit new members who align with the IMTA's core values and development strategy. This will compensate for potential shortcomings during the IMTA's growth, continuously optimize the member structure, and enhance overall competitiveness. Furthermore, the IMTA should strengthen member training, regularly organizing training activities to enhance members' professional capabilities and management skills, helping them achieve greater development in the field of mountain tourism.
"The IMTA should leverage key events to build brand effects," said He Yafei. Currently, the "International Mountain Tourism Day" theme activities and the IMTA Annual Conference have gained international recognition, becoming important brands of the IMTA. In the future, our international influence should be further expanded to attract more internationally renowned figures to participate. Additionally, efforts can be made to create a series of internationally-oriented events with appropriate scales and distinct themes. Through cooperation with international tourism organizations, cultural institutions, and technology industries, global high-end forums, academic exchange seminars, or thematic discussion activities can be held, inviting international tourism experts, cultural scholars, and technology leaders to jointly explore the future development direction of mountain tourism. This will not only enhance the IMTA's international reputation and expand our brand influence but also provide members with a broader communication platform and enhance our sense of belonging.
He proposed that the cultural tourism industry should develop into a strategic pillar industry in China through the dual empowerment of culture and technology, becoming an important part of China's economic development. The concept of new productive forces is closely related to the "Mountain Tourism+" development model, which is an integrated and innovative development model. Through the application of technology and the empowerment of culture, it promotes the deep integration of culture and technology, injecting new development momentum into mountain tourism. Therefore, the IMTA should actively explore the application of digital and intelligent technologies in the tourism field to improve service quality and operational efficiency, driving mountain tourism towards high-quality and sustainable development.
Finally, He Yafei put forward requirements for all staff of the IMTA secretariat: the quality of staff is related to the service level and work efficiency of the IMTA. All staff should persist in learning, thinking, and practicing, enhance our abilities, and strive to become versatile talents. At the same time, the secretariat should establish a more comprehensive talent cultivation mechanism to provide more learning and growth opportunities for staff.
