From April 21 to 23, the 2nd China (Wuhan) Cultural Tourism Expo, sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Hubei Provincial Government, was held in Wuhan International Expo Center. With the theme of "Beautiful Life in China", the Expo has attracted more than 2,000 cultural and tourism exhibitors from 29 provinces, regions, municipalities and Hong Kong, as well as cultural and tourism authorities and international tourism organizations from 15 countries including France, Germany, South Korea, Portugal, Serbia, Thailand and the United States. During the period, 307 live events were held, with 270 million online exposures. The exhibition, the first appearance of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance(IMTA), is an active action of the IMTA to join hands with its members, industry professionals and destination organizations to participate in the construction of mountain tourism platforms, products and industries in the new era, and jointly promote the revitalization and high-quality development of mountain tourism in the post-pandemicera.
Vice President and Secretary-General of the IMTA He Yafei, Vice President and Executive Secretary-General Fu Yingchun were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Expo and related activities. During the exhibition, Lu Yongzheng, member of the Standing Committee of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Minister of Publicity, Miao Muyang, director of Industry Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other leading guests exchanged work with the leaders of the IMTA. They believed that mountain tourism has great potential and will play an increasingly important role in the process of tourism industrialization, especially under the background of new challenges and opportunities. It is hoped that the Alliance will further exert its professional advantages, platform advantages and network advantages to make unique contributions to the high-quality development of tourism in the world, China and Guizhou.
As the participating institution of the International Pavilion of this Expo, the IMTA takes mountain outdoor leisure business as the theme. The design elements reflect the style of mountain tourism, and integrates the most fashionable and leisure mountain tourism new business, such as BMX, kayaking, surfboard, rock climbing, camping, spelunking, popular science research, etc., to create a strong mountain outdoor atmosphere. Attracted many citizens and tourists stop to watch, understand and inquire. The immersive experience provides the most direct visual and tactile experience for visitors to understand mountain tourism, which has become one of the popular check-in points in the exhibition hall. During the exhibition, 1,670 documents were distributed, including the introduction of the IMTA, the Journal of 2021 International Mountain Tourism Alliance Annual Conference, the Commemorative Journal of 2022 International Mountain Tourism Day, and the Journal of 2022 Asian Mountain Tourism Promotion Conference, to fully publicize and display the international image and achievements of the Alliance and expand its influence.
During the exhibition, the IMTA secretariat also took the initiative to communicate with European Tourism Commission, Serbia Pan-Balkan Tourism Group, China subsidiary of European Railways, embassies and consulates or offices in China of the United States, Thailand, Saxony, Croatia, Portugal, South Korea and other countries, as well as national Tourism administrations. Hubei Provincial Cultural and Tourism Department, Hong Kong Island Women's Federation, Suizhou Municipal Cultural and Tourism Bureau, Wuhan Tourism and Home Stay Association, China Green Development Group, Chengdu Cultural and Tourism Industry Research Institute Co., LTD., China Construction Bureau, China Radio International, Chongqing Daily Press Group and other relevant personnel communicated and established contacts, and issued invitations for 2023 "International Mountain Tourism Day" theme activity. Many institutions expressed their willingness to carry out in-depth cooperation and exchanges with the Alliance in various forms, and jointly explore new ideas, new experiences and new methods for the development of mountain tourism. At the same time, the alliance's participation in the Expo has been widely publicized and reported on Baidu, Sohu, Wentravel China, Hubei Daily, Hubei Civilization website, Guizhou Daily, Zhongwang News, Colorful Guizhou website and other media platforms.
