The First Domestic Charter Flight To Darasakor International Airport

On December 26th, 2024, Veha Sakor, Koh Kong Province, Cambodia witnessed Dara Sakor an important moment in the country's aviation history - Welcome Ceremony for the First Domestic Charter Flight to Darasakor International Airport. At 8:30 am, as flight K6151 took off from Phnom Penh International Airport for the first time, with a flight time of about 50 minutes, it finally landed smoothly at the brand-new Dara Sakor International Airport, which officially declared the operation of this modern aviation hub in Cambodia. The inaugural flight not only marked a significant improvement in the connectivity of the Dara Sakor region, but also signaled a new level of Cambodia's position on the global aviation map.

In the morning of December 25th, the day before the inauguration ceremony, the airport team representative went to the Sculpture of Senior Say Phuthang for a memorial service to honor the pioneers who has committed and contributed to the construction of the airport. In the afternoon, a traditional Krong Pily ceremony was held inside the airport, an important blessing and celebration in Cambodian culture to pray for good fortune and prosperity for the smooth operation of the new airport. Team members have joined in this sacred and solemn event to express their best wishes for the future.

At Welcome Ceremony for the First Domestic Charter Flight to Darasakor International Airport on December 26th, the aircraft was greeted with the Water Salute Ceremony, a traditional way of celebrating a safe return of a flight and a symbol of the boundless life and hope that the opening of the airport will bring to us. The program that followed included a traditional Cambodian welcome dance, as well as gift-giving and photo sessions for passengers, which were carefully arranged and full of local style, showcasing the unique cultural charm of Cambodia.
