On April 15th, Tongcheng Travel released the "2025 May Day Travel Trends Insight Report." Data from Tongcheng Travel shows that in addition to popular domestic destinations such as Beijing, Chengdu, and Shanghai, countries like South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand will see an increased number of tourists visiting them. As people's potential for travel spending grows, the demand for high-star hotels in China far exceeds that for three-star and lower-rated hotels. Based on data analysis from the Tongcheng Travel platform, the popularity of travel during the May Day holiday in 2025 is expected to reach its peak since 2023, with the peak travel period likely occurring in the two days before the holiday. The market during the May Day holiday will be characterized by strong demand and supply across different regions, as well as a growing trend towards high-quality leisure and vacation experiences.
