Recently, the 2025 "Shenwu Gorge" International Cultural and Tourism Promotion Event was held at the "Wudang Dream" park in the Wudang Mountain Special Zone, Shiyan City, Hubei Province. This event was organized by the World Tourism Cities Federation, the Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Shiyan Municipal People's Government, with support from organizations such as the China Tourism Association. Mike Castan Clemson, Secretary-General of the Danzhong Tourism and Cultural Exchange Association, represented the European travel industry and shared his in-depth observations and vision for cooperation regarding the golden tourism route that includes Shennongjia, Wudang Mountain, the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, and the Enshi Grand Canyon. He stated that the current historic boom in tourism between China and Europe is driven by three key factors: the continuous release of policy benefits, the increasing appeal of immersive experiences, and the significant conveniences brought about by technological advancements. Additionally, the "Shenwu Gorge" route possesses three strategic advantages for European tourists: it represents an "oriental wonderland" of their choice, offers an immersive exploration of Taiji culture and Eastern philosophy, and provides a unique contrast to classic European landscapes. To promote the widespread development of this route in the European market, he proposed three action plans, including establishing product innovation laboratories, building a digital marketing ecosystem, and investing in talent development and service improvements.
