Data from Tongcheng Travel shows that from December 1 to 15, searches for core travel keywords like “snow viewing,” “skiing,” and “winter warmth escapes” nearly doubled month-over-month. Hotel bookings for stays from late January to before the Spring Festival saw a 50% month-over-month increase, with a notable rise in family travelers. Since December began, travel demand has surged in both northern and southern destinations, fully energizing the winter tourism market. Classic winter destinations like Harbin and Shenyang maintain high popularity. Meanwhile, southern warm-winter cities such as Sanya, Kunming, and Xishuangbanna have become top choices for northern travelers seeking refuge from the cold, leveraging their comfortable climates.
